Meet the 2019 North West team

In 2018, the North West region finished in third place at the National Championships and have a strong team to challenge for honours this time round.

Thirty three different colleges took part in the North West tournaments and 21 of those colleges are taking part in the Championships in April.

Colleges attending Championships: Accrington & Rossendale College, Aquinas College, Blackburn College, Burnley College, Cardinal Newman College, Carmel College, Furness College, Holy Cross College, Lancaster & Morecambe College, Myerscough College, Nelson & Colne College, Newton Rigg College (Askham Bryan), Reaseheath College, Riverside College, Runshaw College, Salford College, Southport/KGV College, St John Rigby College, Tameside College, Trafford College, Xaverian College

Winstanley College have made a significant contribution to the team, entering teams in eight of the 13 sports (badminton, cross county, golf, hockey, men’s football, table tennis, tennis and men’s volleyball).

Who to look out for: Holy Cross have won the netball competition at National Championships in 2017 and 2018 and will be going for the treble.

The tennis team won the regional competition in 2018 and again have a strong team hoping to compete for the top spot

National Championships veteran: Jess Cook from Carmel College s competing in the cross country for the second year running. She hopes to bring success to the regional side once again.
