Following feedback from colleges after last year's National Championships, AoC Sport is delighted to be able to offer this year's athletes a superior accommodation package, creating an Olympic Village feel to the 2017 event.

Don’t miss out on the chance for your students to enjoy the full National Championships experience by booking to stay at our specially designated on-campus accommodation.

This year, we are offering students and staff the opportunity to stay on-campus at the University of Nottingham in the student accommodation buildings, with separate regions housed together to help build a strong team-spirit over the weekend.

Accommodation will be provided in single rooms, many of which have en-suite facilities. Where shared bathroom facilities are provided, for safeguarding reasons, staff will not be sharing facilities with students. Where possible colleges from the same region will be accommodated in the same hall of residence.

Top reasons to stay on campus

  1. Nine of the 13 sports are either located on-campus or a short walk away, while the remaining four are all within a half-an-hour drive, allowing students to focus on their event and enjoy the occasion.
  2.  All rooms will be single occupancy with bedding provided, making student management easier for accompanying staff members, while safeguarding will also be more manageable as staff will be allocated on-campus accommodation.
  3. Each college will be asked for their requirements with regards to single-sex blocks/floors, and will be allocated rooms accordingly, in-line with their safeguarding policies.
  4.  Food (breakfast, evening meals and a packed lunch on Saturday) will be included in the package deal and served in the halls of residence, allowing students to dine with others from their region.
  5. Everyone staying on-campus will receive free access to the 25m, eight-lane swimming pool at the David Ross Sports Village throughout the weekend.
  6. College staff will be allocated en-suite rooms where possible.
  7. The National Championships are a dry event and no alcohol will be served in the students' halls of residence over the weekend, ensuring a safe event for your students.
  8. On-campus parking will be free all weekend. Colleges will be asked how many permits they require.
  9. Common rooms are fully accessible for students to use throughout the weekend.

The package price is £110+VAT for two night's accommodation, including meals, and VAT exemption is available for most colleges.

The on-campus arrangements at this year’s National Championships are set to be a huge improvement on previous accommodation facilities, providing students with the best possible experience of a top-quality sporting event and allowing regional team-mates to bond, ensuring a real team atmosphere.

You can book accommodation for the weekend through the online entry form your college should have received via email. Please contact Andy Perlejewski with any queries.
